As I am writing this in 2009 there are not much information about the music of Rock’n Roller, singer and songwriter Roy A. Loney on Internet. There are a couple of good interviews, but not much about his music after he left the Flamin’ Groovies. Therefore I have created this Roy Loney discography with my own little review of each record. You're welcome to help me correcting errors and make the discography as complete as possible. Thanks to Per Magnusson for providing material I didn't have and also thanks to Marty Arbunich (former co-owner of Solid Smoke Records).
News
Spring 2012: Roy is singing on the title track "Temple Beautiful" on Chuck Prophet's new album and the Phantom Movers (with Cyril Jordan on a couple of tracks) opened for Chuck at a gig in San Francisco.
September 2011: This is not hot news but Roy (vocals) and James Ferrell (guitar) is on a track calles Gamblin' Man on Chris Wilson and His Shamless Pickups 2011 album Love Over Money. December 2 2010: GREAT NEWS FOR CHRISTMAS: All five of the Solid Smoke Roy Loney albums are available as downloads on CD Baby, and they're en route to itunes, Amazon, and many others as well. Four of the albums appear with the same tracks, with the exception of "Phantom Tracks," which has been expanded with six extra goodies...http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/royloney5. All albums were carefully transferred to digital from the original tapes about a year ago.
July 1 2010: Marty Arbunich (former co-owner of Solid Smoke Records) has kindly made some comments on the Solid Smoke records and the Raven compilation. He also had this GREAT NEWS: "I plan to make available soon all 5 of the original Solid Smoke/War Bride/Double Dare Loney albums as digital downloads. The "Phantom Tracks" album will be enhanced with the addition of several rarities."
